Sonya is currently the Director of Brand Management at Melcom Group of Companies.
Sonya started off her career in education. After pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from New York University, Sonya has gone on to teach at Sear Roger’s International School in Hong Kong, The American International School in Lagos and Ghana International School in Accra.
When Sonya decided to make the move to the corporate world, she successfully completed GIMPA’s Chief Executives Programme and pursued a course in Understanding & Developing Brand Strategy at TRUEVENTUS.
Sonya is the President of Friends of Life, a Patron of the Ghana Association for the Advocacy of Blind Education as well as a Board Member of HIPS Charity School. These commitments are Sonya’s way of giving back to the community she lives in. She has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International in 2004, as well as the Feminine Ghana Achievement awards for 2 consecutive years.
