Melcom Care Foundation is the humanitarian wing of the Melcom Group of Companies. In 2013, the Melcom Care Foundation was created to help support Ghanaian communities. Melcom Care Foundation enables the group to give back to the Ghanaian society in a more focused way by creating a sense of belonging among the members of the communities we operate in nationwide.
Melcom Care Foundation is engaged in Education Sponsorships for brilliant but needy children. Melcom has supported a large number of children and adults from Basic to Tertiary Level of Education including overseas education sponsorship. Melcom Care has aided in the building of classroom blocks and renovation of existing school buildings. In the past, sponsorships as well as thousands of exercise books have been donated for tertiary institutions namely University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Regent University.
Melcom Care Foundation in collaboration with the National Blood Service organised a nationwide blood donation exercise to support health care delivery in Ghana. The exercise was carried out simultaneously in 22 Melcom Shops nationwide.
The Melcom Care Foundation focuses on healthcare by renovating hospital wards and donating equipments. An ambulance valued at $33,000 was donated to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. This was a gift to mark the 75th birthday of the Group Chairman Mr Bhagwan Ramchand Kubhchandani. He was of the view that individuals and corporate entities needed to assist in the delivery of quality and accessible healthcare.
