The Melcom blood drive was the brainchild of our late Founder and Group Chairman, Mr. Bhagwan Khubchandani, since his business association with Ghanaian industry and commerce had donated blood regularly until he was advised to voluntarily opt out due to old age. 

Over the years, Melcom has built the capacity in mobilizing blood donors once every year, thus effectively improving upon the annual blood donation delivery to the health sector from as little as 434 pints in 2013, and reaching our highest bleeding figure of 2,184 pints a day as donation in 2023. The total number of blood pints to date is 8,514.
